Anjas Daily Log

Here are a bunch of pictures of Anja's first month.   I jotted down her weight and size each day, you can see it in the log file (to the left).

Current up to day 32.

Day1

Anja was born Saturday Sept 5th, 2009 just past noon pacific time.  I took Sophie's temperature Sat morning and it was 100.4 so we did not expect Anja's arrival until Sept 7th, but she literally just slid out while Sophie was running down the hallway, and missed the end of the 40 foot drop cloth I put down to protect the carpet :) oh well, I'm just glad I was there at the time to witness the birth!    She weighed in at just over 250 gms later that evening.

  First licks!

Day 2

It's been a busy day - nap time!

Day 3

Monday (Labor day!)  Anja weighed in at just over 350 grams.   Pretty good growth for someone just a couple of days old.

  Bucket of puppy!

Proud Mommy!

Day 4

So far  she's more than doubled in weight (250 gm -> 510 gm), and grown 50% in length ( under 6 inches to 9+ inches).  At times she seems to be nothing but one huge stomach!   Luckily Anja is still tiny, and Sophie has been doing a great job of cleaning up after her

Puppy Pillow!  (Keeps her from wiggling away!)

      Gopher?  Hamster?   baby Seal?

DAY 5

Thursday Sept 10th  - Weight is now  over 1 pound

at the Dr office, waiting to get double dew claws removed!

Stuck in a bucket, bandages on my feet.. Why am I smiling?

Day 6

Thank God it's Friday!  Hey, it's my first Friday.  Yeah!

  Perhaps I'm a Lizard?

   Lunch!

NapTime - It's almost as good as Lunch!!

Look at my cute white socks.

Day 7

 625 grams - 150% gain in a one week.

Mom - will my feet ever be as big as yours?

Day 8

 Sunday Sept 13th. 675 grams.

Be easier to find the food if not for the forest..

Day 10

791 Grams  : 200% increase in weight.   Over 10 inches in length.

Today, I'm a hippopotamus!

    Tired puppy, smiling Mommy!

About time for another bucket, don't you think?

Day 12

907 Grams,

    Is there any relation?

Day 13

Thinking about opening my eyes, but not really sure about it yet.

Today, I'm a Vulture!  Fear me!

Day 14

2 Weeks old!  Passed the 1Kg mark.

Time to escape! Ah darn it, Mom is guarding the door (and I can't actually walk yet)

Ok, after dreams of escape, time for lunch.

Is the world worth looking at?  Nah!

  Puppy kisses!

Day 15

1.101 Kg

.T Thank goodness, you got a new bowl. That xmas cookie bowl sort of ruined my whole vulture thing.

Hey, I see how you cropped the photo!  I'm not the one that should be watching my weight!

  Today I'm a Bison.

Nah, I'm really an alligator! Rarr!

Day 16

1.17 Kg.    A foot long!  A fortnight and 2 pence old!   Ok.  Today I want to see the world!

I'm going to cause all sorts of mischief.  Just you wait and see!

I'm really a little black bear!   Have any honey?

Yawn!  All these pictures are tiring.  Time for lunch!

Day 17

Five times heavier that when she was born.

Are you sure she's mine?  Spending some time with a guilty Dad!

Day 19

    Inch worm, inch worm...

Day 21

First real steps, even though most of them lead backwards.

The world is mine!

Today I'm a seal!  I've the the ball and everything!

This walking is hard, I'm pooped!

    New friend!

Day 22

Shsss!  I'm hunting wabbits!

Work the camera baby!

Perhaps too much working the camera.

First real walk!  (This Grass is easier that that silly hardwood floor!)

Anja's life... Cameras and motion blur...

Day 26

1.7 Kg (about 4 lbs)!   Nearly 7 times heavier than the day she was born.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing!

   It's good to be hugged!

Day 29 (Sunday Oct 4)

Perhaps the last really good day of the year, before 6 months of Seattle rain.  We took her to Salmon Days (a street fair in Issaquah) in a puppy backpack, where her mom to chaperone.  Much ooh-ing and awh-ing when we took her out and let her see her public.

Strolling thru the grass one day, in the merry merry month of October?

More holding..

A good day to be outside.

I'm a Panda Bear    No! I'm Jaws! Fear me!

   Eskimo kisses!

  Mom Shopping!
Waiting to cross the street!

My - what big teeth you have!

I better keep one eye on this person!

My Ball!      Singing for their supper!

Day 30

Back home. She seem to have lots and lots of energy, barely slept all night and ran about the house.
Hasn't really got running down quite right, so a few detours off into the walls, but she's getting almost
to fast to catch.   I for see these shoes aren't going to be around long however..

Shoe?  Brother? Lunch?  Whatever, I like it!
